These cops are AMAZING!!! The department is great and very responsive. They truly care about the community. CGPD we appreciate your dedication to the town and its residents.

Excellent police department. I have nothing but good things to say about my town police department of cedar grove, NJ. They do an outstanding job. The other comments regarding speed traps are biased . Although the department does check speeds down pompton ave, rather rigorously I might add, They only do it because rt 23 (pompton ave) is not a large road and people easily do 50-60 mph in a 30-40 zone. At one point the road narrows to one lane. If the department did not enforce the speed limit , everyone would be speeding through pompton ave possibly causing severe injury or death to pedestrians. Its all fun and games until someone dies from recklessness. Dont blame them for doing their job. Without a doubt, there is always a cop on pompton ave when you enter the town of cedar grove and various other parts of the town clearly visible in marked cruisers. These officers are like a beacon to welcome us home and also to warn anyone who is coming into our town with evil intent. This department does an amazing job making themselves visible to deter crime. They have my support 100% !
This is the kind of small town police you will loath as a outsider. The quintessential police trap. You will likely be stopped and the officer will lie..as evident by his own recorded statements which contradict himself. The court in this town "takes care of their own". These are not my words but rather the words of two lawyers, one of whom lived in the town and 3 judges. Discovery documents and a court date required 4 1.2 hour trips each way to the courthouse and 3 hour waits every time. They really know how to force every defendent to expend the maximum effort for the minimum reward and plea guilty to reckless driving.This pd, town and court is all about the mighty dollarmand zero justice.
Give them your poor, tired, and hungry and they will incarcerate them. An embarrassment to modern day society. Social economics means nothing to them when the law dictates they have full reigns over society with no accountability for their actions.
